NAPOWRIMO 2017 ~ Day Fifteen ~ When We Reached The Gate ~

Because we’re halfway through NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo today, I’d like to challenge you to write a poem that reflects on the nature of being in the middle of something. The poem could be about being on a journey and stopping for a break, or the gap between something half-done and all-done. Half a loaf is supposedly better than none

gate

life is an uncertain journey

the road sometimes straight

sometimes tricky, uneven,misty

testing strength courage, gait

one never knows when is halfway

and where,it is a testing wait

happily one begins with lots of

fun joy love happiness and playmate

but then appears the real friction

stoppages bars and restrictions

it all is puzzling and so like a riddle

start lost stranded one is, in the middle

one can see the way,the gate is visible

is it half closed or about to open wide

not so sure for it is quite dark, this side

what makes the way, what is permissible…

Then a voice softly spoke, there is hope

if you have been good so ‘beg’ prostrate’

forgiveness, as good deeds are the ‘keys’

they are ‘force enough’ to open the gate
